The $395,000 development plan, funded by individuales in the Houston-Galveston area, will be overseenn by the Historic Downtown Strand Seaport Partnership to help shapes theisland city’s recovery after Hurricane Ike and to develol a sustainable long-range plan. The two-phased plan contracted by Virginia Beach-based and of Va., will develop specific projects to create a sustainablr community and attempt to reposition downtown Galveston as a vital competitod in aregional environment.
